Jacques Beaumelle
My Career pictorial
Born Saturday, November 25, 1950 in Lunel, the fifth child of Mother
who held since the age of seven years the small neighborhood grocery
store from the street PASTEUR, commonly known as "Gaby".
Papa farmhand in farmhouse "Desportes", was the coffee server and
a member of Club bullfighting.
In the sixties, our neighbor Director of the Youth and Culture House, enrolled me to drawing classes,
which made me go "intellectuals" of the city that inspired our little town.
I learned the basics of screen printing, it gave me the opportunity to speak on the walls of the city
(at that time poster designed for the protection of coastal land against the project of the Grande-Motte)
and during the events of sixty-eight, when my life began as an apprentice at the window dresser Prisunic Nimes.
I meet Isabel BOUTIER Limagne, great artist painter in France at this time
(I delivered the clothes she had put my aunt in the laundry) she quickly informed me his technique of oil painting. We remained good friends until his death.
First exhibition in Nimes, the library "Our Time".
Married in 1972, I resigned to work with Olivier Castelli, silkscreen Art EYGALIERES
we are publishing for Marie Mauron, and prints for Ambrogiani, Prassinos, Serra.
Following the closure of the workshop, I make a rapid transition from an industrial screen in Marseille
and then I return to work in retail in Nîmes (Supermarkets bought by Euromarché CARREFOUR).
I stay several years and NAGES Solorgues, which I am part of the City Council
Passionate by Camargue races, I make stickers of Bious famous herds of bulls (Pascalet, Goya).
My gouache on village life and bullfighting clubs of the time allow me to exhibit my work throughout the Camargue.
Several works have been purchased and distributed by Casanis, the city of Nimes and of course the Tourist Office
of Lunel.
After 1985, I should be less personal exposures for group exhibitions that leave me more time to devote myself to my family (my wife is seriously ill, we take Marie-Pierre). I take the position of department manager at Carrefour,
after 1995 my work no longer interests me, as my requests to go abroad fail, I leave my employer in 1998 to live in Nice.
I start to paint and exhibit on the Cote d'Azur (Matisse, Chagall, Klein, Leger and Picasso are also something).
I create guesthouses and during the winter I make a few trips to India, under the initiative of Isabel BOUTIER
who had lived there.
I am truly fascinated by this country I want to live my retirement !
